Unknown Stones 2023

Amethysts, quartzes, agates, tourmalines, pyrites, labradorites, malachites. In this brief exploration of matter, the geodes portrayed turn into something else: abstract shapes, worlds to observe, possible stories of objects that came from who knows where. In the essentiality of the representation, each stone becomes a portal to unknown dimensions, suspended between the tangible and the dreamlike. The cut and polished surfaces reveal not only the intrinsic details of their composition but also create fragments of cosmic landscapes, like tiny galaxies trapped in the mineral. Each geode, with its multicoloured layers and veins, invites us to lose ourselves in its details, to imagine stories of creation and transformation, of geological forces bound up with the mysteries of the universe. In these images, matter elevates its form and its colours; the stones are no longer simple objects but stories in potential, abstract shapes that suggest journeys to distant, unknown worlds. The object breaks free from its earthly origin to become the symbol of something greater, eternal and inscrutable.
